Kids on computersParents are responsible for what their children access

  • Ages 6 and under: a parent sits with the child
  • Ages 7–10: a parent stays in the building and checks on the child often
  • Ages 11–17: may use computers without direct supervision, at the parent’s discretion

The computers are filtered, but no filter is 100% accurate: some sites that should be blocked get through, and some that shouldn’t be are blocked. Filters don’t replace a parent’s supervision. Please tell staff if the filter misses an objectionable site.

WiFi

Free, with no password: join the JCL-Library network and accept the terms and conditions.

Virtual meetingsJCL-Northwest only

Borrow a laptop with a camera and microphone for in-library use from the Information Desk at the Northwest Branch, first come, first served. Please hold virtual meetings in a quiet study room (also first come, first served) so the library stays respectful for everyone.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.

Printing

Printing from the public computers is 20¢ a page. You can also send jobs from your own device, at home or in the library, with Print from Anywhere.
