Do you accept book donations?

Yes — the library welcomes gifts of books and other materials, memorials and honorariums. Donated items are added to the collection only if they meet the same guidelines we use to buy new materials. Items we don't add may go to the Friends of the Library for their book sales, which support library programs, or to other organizations or libraries, or be exchanged or recycled.

Staff can't appraise donations, but on request we'll give you a receipt describing the items when you drop them off (no value is assigned). You can also give money in memory or honor of a loved one: when possible, staff choose titles for the collection with the family, and gifts can carry a bookplate.

How can I volunteer?

We're always accepting volunteer applications. See Employment & Volunteering.

Can I display artwork?

Yes — each branch has a display case for local artists and organizations, and teachers are encouraged to show student work. Cases are reserved first come, first served. Submit a written application first: library management must approve the exhibit before it goes up. We take reasonable care of exhibits but can't be responsible for theft or damage. Contact your branch or read the Community Display Case Policy.
